Though Steve Patton was raised in Oregon, he has lived all over the map, including Alaska, Texas, Missouri, Arizona, and Bavaria, Germany. He now pastors Messiah Lutheran Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, and admits that summers in the South are a bit challenging. Pastor Patton and his wife have two daughters and a dopey dog named Dash. Through his church, he’s involved in disaster relief and supports the work of local food banks and outreaches to those who are homeless. He has rediscovered running as a hobby and likes to bike and bake, especially chocolate chip cookies. He’s also a self-proclaimed coffee snob. As a pastor, he loves helping people discover where God is calling them to grow in their various vocations. Fun fact: He previously worked for a tech company in the gold rush days of the internet and remembers when the 1 millionth URL was sold in the late 1990s.
